  1. Hi everyone, Is there any store that sells spare counter weight plates for HD-2000? I lost 8 of mine when i was moving to a new house. I found one in B&H, but it says that its for HD-1000. Is it the same dimension with the HD-2000? Regards, Thomas Davis
  2. So I have a Glidecam HD 2000 I am balancing it with my Canon 70D (755g (1.7 lb)) and my lens is the Canon 10-18mm (8.5 ounces or 0.5291 lbs), a am using the Manfrotto 394 RC4 tripod mount (weighing 9.9 ounces) I am struggling to balance it and have struggled for months. I was using one counterweight on both sides on the bottom and someone told me more weight was better for top and bottom. So I put two and tried to mount counterweights on top but have failed so far. Has anyone got any suggestions for me on how I can balance this? and whether adding weight on top is better?

  5. Hello, I have noticed my Glidecam bearings making a bit of noise when I rotate it and was looking at a few methods and products in order to clean and relubricate it. A cleaning method I came across was to soak the bearings in oil and 'flicking' the oil out it, hopefully along with any unwanted dirt particles. My question is: what lubrication do you recommend for the bearings? I have looked at 3-in-1 Dry lubricant (with PTFE) and also 3-in-1 High performance lubricant (again with PTFE), as well as bike grease (with Teflon). Also, could I just use WD40 as the cleaning solution? Thanks in advance!
  6. Hey guys, I have a problem, especially with longer lenses (like 85 mm here). Been using glidecam with sony a7s m1 (no stabilisation in camera). Here's sample footage: http://swwweou5/C0272.MP4? You can see some "bouncing" effect starting from 4 sec. I don't know what causes that effect, everything was fixed properly, no camera movement, using manfrotto QR plate. I think It was balanced pretty ok (changing lens from 24 to 85, but I don't know If It could be the cause of this shakes) Anyone experienced that kind of thing? What could cause that? I didn't see that while filming. PS. I know It' a bit out of focus, sorry guys. Thanks in advance, peace!:)
  7. Adding weight to the top of the Glidecam Devin Graham Signature Series to make those lighter weight cameras a little more inert, is a real snap. If your using the Glidecam Smooth Shooter or Glidecam X-10; These systems include Steel Weight Plates, they are designed to stack on-top of the Glidecam Camera Mounting Platform; under the camera. Using these weights on the Glidecam Devin Graham Signature Series has now been made very easy, using our Custom Length screws which are at a longer length. See attached. Now you can FLY the smallest cameras (i.e GO-PRO, etc..) on your Glidecam DGS Unit; just add a couple steel weight plates to the top and your meet the minimum weight requirement and be ready to go.

  10. I recently brought a used hd-2000 and I'm having issues with the oil. moving the position of the handle translates significantly to the panning of the Glidecam. I've seen that this has been recommended: But I cant seem to find a UK supplier. Does anyone know where I can find this oil or suggest me a different oil for use on my Glidecam. Thanks Jordan
  11. Hello, Has anyone out there ever used this combination? I am curious to know if it would work and how you would set it up. I imagine you could mount the odyssey at the front of sled and run power from an idx/gold mount at the back. Would the payload of the camera be too heavy for the bottom? Any suggestions or tips would be awesome. You are thanked.
  12. Hi everyone! I just joined the glidecam club. I bought a XR-2000 secondhand on ebay to use with my C100 - and I have a question that maybe you can help me with. My question is not about balancing or set up - plenty of youtube vids to help with that and I'm close there. My question is about how you deal with holding the weight of the glidecam and camera/lens with one arm! I find it very taxing. I'm pretty fit but my arm will shake with the weight - is there a technique to holding the actual gimbal arm? Or is this something that you just become accustomed to? Anyone else experienced this? I also noticed that the XR-2000 is no longer being manufactured. Is there anything I need to know there? And finally - anyone who uses the C100 on a glidecam - do you guys and gals always strip the top handle and side handle from the C100 to aid balance and reduce weight? I find I can balance it almost perfect with the extras but its just a touch off. Anyhow - appreciate any help you experts might be able to give. Thank you in advance! Happy bonfire night!

  17. 7/8/2016 Great review on the NEW Glidecam XR-PRO Excellent stabilizer on a budget. By Rom I got this because my Ronin-M has to be sent back for service. Why? Because some water splashed on one of the gimbal motors. Yes, I wasn't supposed to be filming at the beach, and thought I would be careful enough with it. Anyhow, while the Ronin flies to Germany or China for DJI repair, I needed something in the meantime and saw the new XR-PRO. For less than the cost of a new gimbal motor, I could have a stable rig for my GH4 + 12-40 f/2.8 + RODE mic. Not bad. I got it, and after watching a few YouTube videos on how to stabilize it - it is an absolute peach to work with. So much easier to work with than the Ronin - and I have far more control over the look of a shot than the Ronin. It also is easier to cart around without needing an assistant to bring the Ronin stand for me everywhere I needed to set down the Ronin. It also is at a more natural height for shots, and allows me to see the monitor on my GH4 naturally without needing a remote monitor feed like I do on my Ronin. So far, very much enjoying the Glidecam and recommend it - particularly at this price point Glidecam: B&H: Video:
