In addition to moderating posts to the forums, I've also slightly altered the sign-up procedure to require a short fill-in. This should help weed out bots coming in through the "front" door, and will also allow me to see if any are coming in through the "back" door.

If it's a fairly successful deterrent, I'll remove the moderation from the forum posts.

Well it turns out the spam can be stopped simply by manually allowing or denying all new registrations. As such, I've lifted any moderation on the posting of messages.
